Meet the Sgt. Major
I was born in a United States Army Hospital just miles away from the trenches of one of the worst battles of the war to end all wars, Verdun, France.
My father was a career officer in the US Army so I moved around every two years until he retired in 1974 and we came to Romeoville, IL. I enlisted in 1979, spent 2 years with the 1st Inf. Div. (the Big Red One), 10 years with the 12th Special Forces Group Abn, and finished my career in the inactive reserves as of March 1997.
I'm a graduate of Primary Leadership Development, Basic NCO Academy, Advanced NCO Academy, and I'm also a Department of the Army Jumpmaster graduate. Watch me walk in the morning and you'll know.
I began reenacting with the 104th Ill in 1996 under then Captain Keating. When the 10th Ill voted to do reenactments I moved to them to boost numbers and help get them to be the line company they are. I have been acting Corporal and 1st Sergeant with them.
I was asked to volunteer for Sergeant Major for Rockford, for one event, and stayed there all year. Gladly accepted the fulltime position for 2002.
To sum it up, I'm a Gemini, I like long walks on the beach, puppy's and … never mind!
