Billie Creek

JUNE 11, 12, 2005 - ROCKVILLE, INDIANA 30th annual Civil War Days at Historic Billie Creek Village. Indiana's largest Civil War event. This year's event will include military and civilian activities. Schedule includes battles on both days, Saturday evening ball, period church service on Sunday, battalion drill competition with cash prizes, and many other activities throughout both days. Period impressions welcome. Rebates of $125.00 for first ten full-scale cannons and $25.00 for first ten cavalry horses. Pre-registration is required by June 11. Sutlers by invitation only. Amenities include firewood, straw, modern restrooms, and on-site parking. Event will be hosted by the 14th In., Co. A. Don Bryan Event Coordinator. JULY 9-10 - Illinois - 14th Annual Civil War Days Lakewood Forest Preserve, Wauconda. More than 200 acres of heavy woods, large fields, ravines and trails. Saturday morning features reenactor-only activities for both military and civilian participants. The public is invited to Saturday afternoon living history demonstrations and evening guided camp tours and a Sunday scripted battle. Usual amenities. Sutlers by invitation only. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to support Civil War preservation. September 24-25-Wade House Civil War Weekend in Greenbush, WI. Honoring 4th Kentucky Cavalry, C.S.A. and 1st Alabama Cavalry, U.S.A. Site has 1850s stagecoach inn, sawmill, mill pond, blacksmith shop, carriage museum, 280 acres. Scenarios based on Western conflict. Drills by all branches, medical, civilian, soldier living history scenarios. Ladies’ activities. Period music. Saturday sit-down meal plus rations & dance with free beer & root beer. Sunday church services, pancake breakfast for nominal fee. Full-scale artillery only. Half lb. powder to first 300 preregistered, $25 and 10 lbs. powder to artillery, $10 mounted cavalry.
